We planned to spend a single night here, our first in the Rockies after landing in Calgary in early afternoon. The next day we headed deeper into the mountains for three nights in a cabin, but we enjoyed our stay at Lady Macdonald so much that we cancelled our remaining reservations and spent our last three nights here, too.
We spent our first night in the Three Sisters room under the turret on the second floor, and enjoyed the panoramic view of the mountains to the south. We spent three nights in the Vermillion room on the lower level, which was equally comfortable, although obviously lacking the view. Each evening, we sat by the fire in the common room and enjoyed a tray of meats and cheeses, homemade chocolate popcorn, or other treats, enjoyed a glass of wine or a beer from their private list, and relaxed after a day in the outdoors.
I can’t wait to return, regardless of season.

This is our fourth visit to the Lady Macdonald Country Inn and as always it was magnificent! Each visit has been in a different but no less elegant and cozy room. The Grassi Lakes room was just what two newly expectant parents needed. As always breakfast was the highlight of our days here; fresh and homemade, what else could we ask for? As I write this sitting in front of the picturesque mountain view and I don’t want to return to the hustle and bustle of city life. But I do know that we will return and that makes leaving a little bit easier. Thank you for another wonderful, relaxing weekend.

Perfect Weekend getaway! If it wasn’t for the sumptuous breakfast we wouldn’t have gotten out of the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Thanks for the hospitality; we will be back for sure!

I had the opportunity to stay at the Lady Macdonald Inn, and it was by far the most enjoyable part of our trip to the Rockies. The owners, Tammy and Peter are wonderful. The breakfasts are wonderful, and tastefully decorated. The Inn is beautiful and our room had amazing views. We loved the fireplace and the lovely porch. I have had the opportunity to travel quite often, and my experience at the Lady Macdonald Inn was beyond all expectation. The front desk staff was all helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and Peter was able to recommend several hiking trails for us to enjoy. We also enjoyed the tempting tea tray and biscuits set out each afternoon!
